#5 — My first 50 visuals

You don’t build your skill in a course. You build your skill when you apply it every day!

Ok, I’m cheating a little bit here. This is actually the 2nd version of my 5th visual. The changes are minor as you can see if you compare it below with the original tweet.

One of the cool things about starting to create visuals is trying to find ‘your voice’ when it comes to design. How can you create something that has your name written all over it? Great visual creators, like Ash Lamb, Janis Ozolins, Liz Fosslien, and Enes Kartal have such a distinct style you recognize it immediately.

For this visual, I was playing around with the default PowerPoint color schemes. I started out very much like one of my previous visuals. A slight grey color and some of the default colors that are part of the standard PowerPoint color scheme. When scrolling through the other standard color schemes the background of my circle turned into the bright green you see before you.

Something clicked in my mind and I started rearranging the colors of my visual until the version you see appeared. The green background really popped and I really liked the white and green tones coming together. The black text works well and I liked it. I liked it a lot. This would definitely not go unnoticed when you’re scrolling through your Twitter timeline.

I was set to try this style for my upcoming visuals and see if the public liked it as much as I do.

Skills, Skills, Skills

The topic is one that is close to my heart. I’m a Learning and development specialist in real life and really focused on skills. I’m a firm believer that a course can get you started but true skill building happens when you are applying your skills in the real world. I visualized it in this graph where I dramatically emphasized the difference and published it online.

If my visual resonates with you then please give it a like and perhaps a retweet.
I’d sure appreciate it!
